Call for Exhibits and Participation
As part of its outreach function and obligations to society, the Faculty of Agriculture, Makerere University is organising an exhibition at the Makerere University Agricultural Research Institute Kabanyolo (MUARIK) from 18th to 20th November 2010. The purpose of the exhibition is for the Faculty of Agriculture and its partners to showcase the knowledge, technologies and innovations for transformation of the agricultural sector with a focus on food security and wealth creation. The exhibition will bring together a range of stakeholders in the agricultural sector, including: research, training, advisory service providers and input supply organisations; producers, processors and traders to interact and share knowledge, technologies and innovations for modernisation of the agricultural industry.

Alongside the exhibition, there will be dialogues on pertinent topics aimed at enhancing agricultural training and research for development.

The theme of the exhibition is “Agricultural Training and Research for Food Security and Wealth Creation”. Within this theme, dialogue will focus on:

  1. Defining the role of universities in food security and wealth creation; and
  2. Developing partnerships for promoting innovations in agriculture

Call for exhibits
The Faculty of Agriculture calls for exhibits consistent with the theme. The organising Committee’s definition of innovation is all inclusive and is convinced that an exhibition is the strongest marketing tool for the Faculty and researchers therefore do not miss this opportunity.  For that matter all staff and students of the Faculty of Agriculture ought to participate. You are hereby requested to prepare your exhibits early enough. All persons interested in having land allocated to them at MUARIK should send their requests to the steering committee. Students and Staff from other Faculties are encouraged to participate.
